According to fashionista Kate Upton, the brands with the best and worst looks are the same ones that have been the center of controversy lately.
“In fashion, if you look at the brands that are making a huge impact, it’s the same brands that we’ve all been talking about,” Upton told HuffPost.
“And that is, you know, the ones that are not only fashionable, but that are also making a big impact on people’s lives.”
Upton’s favorite brands include Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Zara.
The fashionista said that there’s nothing wrong with choosing the brands you like over the ones you hate.
“There are certain brands that you like and some brands you hate, but you just don’t want to be pigeonholed in the one category,” Upton said.
She explained that she had a hard time choosing between a pair made of polyester and polyurethane. “
But Upton, who also recently took to Twitter to defend her decision to wear a pair of Burberry sunglasses, did admit to a few snags when it comes to selecting the right brands.
“It would just feel like you were wearing a scarf. “
I would never wear a polyester scarf, which is one of the most comfortable things to wear in the world, because I’m not an artist,” Upton explained.
“It would just feel like you were wearing a scarf.
And it just wasn’t very flattering.”
Upton said that she was “surprised” to see that there was no Burberry-made scarf available in the Nordstrom department store, but she did not feel as though the company had taken a stand.
“They don’t have any Burberry scarves, they don’t do any burberry-branded items, and they’re not on the internet, so I didn’t think there was a way to go and get one,” Upton shared.
“But then I got there, and it turns out that they do have a Burberry scarf, and I was like, ‘Okay, this is really cool.'”
